CMS selection that centralized marketing and communications among multiple hospitals


The University of Vermont Health Network, a six-hospital system serving Vermont, northern New York, and beyond, sought to centralize marketing and communications functions to increase efficiencies among the multiple hospitals. UVM partnered with Modea to identify the ideal Content Management System (CMS) platform that would best fit established criteria and address today’s needs while allowing the flexibility of tomorrow.

In order to recommend a new CMS for the University of Vermont Medical Center, we utilized our proprietary tool that provides a non-biased view of all considered CMS’s. Our tool provides an in-depth platform feature and functionality comparison that matched to UVM’s specific needs and requirements.

A critical piece of our CMS selection process is to correctly identify system needs, client preferences, technology limitations, and many other factors. In order to effectively select the best option for UVM, we worked with the internal team to define functional and technical requirements necessary.

With deep technology expertise and a broad understanding of platform capabilities, we utilized this tool to give tangible scores to numerous platforms. Overall, we provided a CMS option that best catered to UVM’s cohesive plan.


  • Assessed and quantified the value proposition of moving Network partner hospitals to a single Network CMS.
  • Identified and presented, in rank order, the top ten CMS platforms that best met the UVM Health Network’s requirements.
  • Provided a total cost of ownership analysis that included expected ongoing development costs for maintenance and enhancements for use of outside resources.
